. . . campaign ends in stalemate at the Vetch

Swansea City 2-2 Torquay United
Division Three: Monday, April 20, 2002

Andrew Mumford

The Swans let a two-goal lead slip at the Vetch as they ended the campaign with a 2-2 draw against Torquay at the Vetch.
Andrew Mumford had given the Swans a dream start after he fired home a 25-yard strike after just 42 seconds.
And when Kristian O'Leary rose highest to head home the second after 16 minutes, it looked like the hosts would sign off the campaign on a winning note.
But Torquay had other ideas, and Marcus Richardson cut the deficit ten minutes later.
The comeback was complete with 12 minutes left as Tony Bedeau outjumped Neil Sharp to nod Jummy Benefied's cross past Jason Jones.
The Swans finished their season 20th in Division Three - below Torquay on goal difference.
