. . . Williams has plenty of praise for impact of Swans' wide men

Ashley Williams has hailed Swansea City’s wonder wingers for given opposition defences major headaches this season.
Michael Laudrup’s side rose to seventh in the Barclays Premier League table thanks to a hugely convincing 4-1 home win over QPR last Saturday.
Nathan Dyer, Pablo Hernandez and Wayne Routledge – who played as the attacking member of a midfield trio – played key roles in the victory over the top-flight’s bottom club.
Routledge set up the second goal thanks to a sublime penetrative pass which found Angel Rangel, while Hernandez claimed the third after a fine finish before setting up Michu to round off the scoring.
Using the three wide men is a tactic often used by Laudrup this term, with the most effective being the 3-1 home win over West Brom.
And Williams highlighted the success the tactic has brought the team this term.
“When we play with the three little guys linking up like they did – it is very difficult for the opposition,” said the Wales skipper.
“You don’t want to face the three of them all together in training, let alone a game situation.
“They are a big threat, and ask a lot of question of opposition defences. It’s been a useful option for the manager this season, as we saw again against QPR. It was very similar to the West Brom game at home.
“Hopefully it will bring us more success.”
The Swans are currently out in Dubai training in a warmer climate ahead of Sunday’s trip to Liverpool.
It has given the players a well-deserved change of scenery after a hectic schedule in December and January.
And Williams pointed out the positives of getting away for a short break.
“We have done well over a hectic period. I think we have deserved this considering the results we’ve had,” added Williams.
“It’s great to get away, get some sun on the body and the joints, recharge the batteries and bond even more.
“Everyone knows now that they have to be at the top of their game when you get an opportunity to play in this team.
“And with some massive games coming up, including the game at Liverpool and the Capital One Cup Final, everyone needs to be sharp and ready.
“So this trip is ideal for us.”
