. . . Spaniard looking forward to facing ex-teammate

Michu says he is looking forward to going up against his former team-mate Iago Aspas when the Swans host Liverpool on Monday night (8pm).

The Spaniard played alongside his compatriot Aspas during his time with Celta Vigo, but on this occasion, the two of them will go head-to-head.

"They have one of my friends, Iago Aspas," explained Michu. "I think he's really good and is going to have a good season. I want to play against him.

"Liverpool is going to be a difficult game. They are really strong, but we need to get three points at home."

And while his old team-mate is now playing at Liverpool, one of his new colleagues swapped Anfield for the Liberty this summer.

Jonjo Shelvey made nearly 50 appearances for Liverpool before joining Swansea, and he is a player that Michu believes will be important for the Swans not only for Monday night's game, but for the whole of this season.

"I am really happy with Jonjo," said Michu. "I think he is going to have a good season because he's a top player, and he will be important for us.

"He knows that playing against Liverpool is always difficult, but we are going to try and get the points at home. We need it."
