Premier League football will be showcased at this year’s Royal Welsh Show as Swansea City take centre stage in Mid Wales.
The annual event, which takes place from July 21-24, regularly attracts over 200,000 visitors to Llanelwedd and is the biggest show of its kind in Europe.
And this year will see Swansea City staff attend and give people the chance to learn new ball skills, meet Cyril the Swan and Lee Trundle, and win two Swansea City season tickets.
Visitors will have the chance take part in various competitions that will ultimately see two lucky raffle winners win season tickets at the Liberty Stadium ahead of the 2014-15 Barclays Premier League season.
The Swans’ newly appointed Development Co-ordinator and first full-time female coach within the club’s Academy, Nia Davies, will also be on hand to offer girls and boys coaching tips with the hope of finding more future stars for the new Girls Development set-up.
“One of my main aims is to get girls playing football in a structured fashion, getting them interested in the game and learning about the club as well,” said Nia.
“With Swansea City being able to showcase itself and the new Girls Development centre at events like this, hopefully a lot more will get involved.”
S4C will also be there on Tuesday to speak to Club Ambassador Lee Trundle as he assesses the Swans’ chances ahead of the new season.
All money raised during the four days will go towards the club’s charity, SwansAid, which raised over £55,000 for local community projects back in June.
The Swans will be at the Main Sports Ring at 10:10am (everyday), 1:10pm (Monday to Wednesday) and 2:10pm (Thursday).
