Swans delight at Powe's national recognition

Posted on: Thu 08 Sep 2011

Swansea City Ladies were delighted to see Alicia Powe gain her first cap for the National Women's Team recently.

Alicia became the Swans first full international by appearing as a substitute in the away friendly with Northern Ireland on 24 February.

Having been on standby for other recent international games this was just reward for her hard work and dedication to the sport.

"The club is extremely proud to have players involved with the Welsh squads, with many players having played at under-17 level and five players involved at under-19 level this season," said team manger Ian Owen.

"This is great reward for everybody involved with the club and shows that all the hard work is paying off."
