Swansea City underlined their intention of securing the South Wales Women's League championship title, with their best result of the season, against lowly placed Dinas Powys at Baglan's Evans Bevan playing fields, writes Robert Clement.
For the second consecutive week, Gwent born striker Lindsay Morgan chalked up four goals, equalling her achievement in the recent Welsh Premier League clash at Newcastle Emlyn.
Swansea were quickly into their attacking stride and Laura-May Walkley was unfortunate, heading over the bar after three minutes from a Sarah Adams cross.
It then took only an additional four minutes to produce the breakthrough, with central defender Natalie Ashford sending a quality pass for Morgan to seize upon, and from just outside the six yard area, she slotted home past goalkeeper Sophie Manship.
Swansea's Lethal striker then struck again after ten minutes, when a right-sided delivery by Adams found Morgan in space, for her to firmly plant the ball into the net.
The pressure continued to be applied to the Dinas Powys defence, and a third goal arrived on seventeen minutes when a quality left footed finish by Rachel Rowe allowed the Swansea College student to fire home from the edge of the penalty area.
The Swans continued to tighten their grip on the game and midway into the opening half the scoreline was increased with Port Talbot born Adams playing a key role racing forward to set up Morgan for her hat-trick.
Additional rewards were reaped with Swansea stretching their lead just before the interval when an Adams shot was cleared by Manship, only for the ball to strike defender Vicky Williams, to then deflect over the goal-line.
Following Swansea's domination of the opening half, the South Glamorgan visitors finally found a route forward on the hour, with Ceri Havard combining with Japanese born Nao Yamada, and the striker offer a threat only for Gemma Border to comfortably collect the twelve yard shot.
There was additional inspiration from Swansea soon after and Adams joined the goalscoring celebrations with a good run forward which was followed by an excellent angled finish.
Midway into the second period Jodie Passmore, a replacement for Rowe, blasted a precision effort that rebounded off the upright, and fortunately Morgan was ideally placed to ram home the loose ball.
It was a rousing performance by the Swans and with fifteen minutes left, Rhiannon Summerfield a solid finish from close range.
A crafted opening and finish from Stephanie Turner saw Swansea swiftly reap additional reward.
Double figures were reached on 84 minutes, with Passmore displaying her strength and determination to burst forward swiftly and finish with style.
Three minutes later, Turner returned to apply a delicate chipped shot over the top of the advancing Manship for her second goal of the match.
"It's a great win for the team, with us finishing in front of goal well, which is something we have not done in recent matches, but it all started to improve last week and we have continued with another goal blitz, but the scoreline is not always a true reflection of the ninety minute performance", said Swansea City Ladies team manager Ian Owen.
"In recent Welsh Cup and League Cup matches we were unable to find the net with any consistency and went out of both competitions, but that has now been put right with twenty two goals in this and our previous Welsh Premier League match at Newcastle Emlyn, with goals being shared out by a variety of players".
"The defence has been exceptional all season, but last week it was disappointing to concede our first goal against Newcastle Emlyn in our Premier League schedule".
Owen added, "We've completed five of our six match programme in the new league with maximum points, and the campaign comes to an end on Sunday, with our final match at Manorbier"
"Although we've won the Southern section title, we're not taking this match lightly, it's just another one that we're looking forward to, and it would be ideal to finish on a positive note, and hopefully maintain our 100% record".
"As yet, with the Northern Section still very tight, our opponents in the final is still unclear, with Aberystwyth, Llanidloes and Caernarfon still in with a possibility of finishing on top, but when we've played these teams in the past, they've proved to be difficult opponents, so whoever it'll be, we'll certainly need to play well".
