Bodde bid rejected
Swansea City can confirm that the club has turned down an official £500,000-plus bid from Derby County for Dutch midfielder Ferrie Bodde.
The relegated Premiership club made the bid for the former Den Haag midfielder at the end of last week and details were released in the Derby press today.
"I can confirm that we have received a bid for Ferrie,'' explained Swans chairman Huw Jenkins. "I can also confirm that it has been rejected.
"The offer is laughable, especially for a player who is not for sale anyway.
"Having just won promotion to the Championship, our aim is to strengthen our squad and compete, not let our best players go on the cheap.''
Derby's £500,000 bid also included an extra £250,000 if the Rams were promoted back to the Premiership at the end of the season.
