Swans operation double
Swans duo Angel Rangel and Jason Scotland will both go under the surgeon's scalpel before the new Championship campaign kicks off.
Defender Rangel was due to have a hernia operation in London today, while Scotland will fly to Germany next Thursday for a minor stomach operation.
But both players are expected to be fit enough to start the new campaign.
"Angel's injury is a typical sportsman's hernia,'' explained Swans physio Richie Evans. "He felt it towards the end of the season and that's why we pulled him out of a few games.
"The symptoms got better and we have tried to treat it conservatively over the summer. But when he stepped up his pre-season programme he started to feel it again.
"Surgery is always the last resort, but if everything goes ok he should be back for the first game of the season.''

Scotland's stomach operation is not as serious and the striker is only set to be out for around two weeks.
"Jason picked up a stomach strain around Christmas time,'' added Evans. "We left him out for two weeks and when he came back it wasn't causing him a problem.
"But he felt the symptoms again over the summer and we felt it was best to have the operation.
"We aim to get him back in time for the trip to Spain later this month.''
