Final: Neath 0 Swans 5
Swansea City cruised to victory in their first friendly on home soil against Neath FC at The Gnoll tonight.
A crowd of around 7,500 turned up for the first ever football match to be staged at the famous rugby ground and they were treated to a feast of goals and impressive performances from all of the Swans players.
Guillem Bauza got things underway with a quick-fire double early on while further goals were added in the second-half from Ferrie Bodde (penalty), trialist Michael van der Heijden and new signing Stefan Morrison.
Neath (first-half): Rob Thomas, David Burrows, Jack Jenkins, Sean Cronin, Rob Folland, Geraint Passmore, Stephen Pockett, Dale Evans, Daniel Lancey, Andy Hill, Scott McCourbrey.
Swans (first-half): Dorus de Vries, Matty Collins, Garry Monk, Albert Serran, Federico Bessone, Kristian O'Leary, Darren Pratley, Jordi Gomez, Shaun MacDonald, Thomas Butler, Guillem Bauza.
Referee: Lee James (Pontardawe)
The first ever football match at The Gnoll took just 12 seconds for the first attempt on goal which fell to Neath forward Andy Hill, but his weak effort was easily dealt with by de Vries.
Shaun MacDonald had the Swans' best opening chance on four minutes. Good build-up play from Jordi Gomez and Tom Butler set-up MacDonald whose right footed strike went over the bar.
But the deadlock was broken two minutes later. Gomez was involved again, this time it was his free-kick from the right-hand side which was guided in by Guillem Bauza from close range.
The Swans added to their tally on 10 minutes with a counter attacking which lead to Guillem Bauza scoring his second. Dorus de Vries' clearence was deflected to O'Leary, his pin-point ball found Shaun MacDonald on the right-hand side and good movement between him and Pratley set-up a tap-in for the former Espanyol man.
And Pratley could have added one of his own on 21 minutes but his ambitious strike from Tom Butler's corner went flying over the crossbar, Shaun MacDonald also shot wide of the target on 29 minutes while Matty Collins curled a powerful strike over Rob Thomas' goal a minute later.
The half drew to a close with the Swans dominating as far as pressure was concerned, but neither side created many chances and it was 2-0 at the break.
Half-Time: Neath FC 0 Swansea City 2

Neath (second-half): Rob Thomas, Rob Folland, Stephen Pockett, Lee Bevan, Jack Jenkins,Gavin Jones, Chris Pridham, Richard Ingram, Jarrod Price, Vinny Shuttleworth, Carl Shaw.
Swans (second-half): Dorus de Vries, Alan Tate, Ashley Williams, Owain Tudur Jones, Marcos Painter, Leon Britton, Ferrie Bodde (Joe Allen, 77'), Michael van der Heijden, Mark Gower, Andrea Orlandi (Morrison, 77'), Gorka Pintado.
The Swans made an immediate impact with 10 new players on the pitch as Andrea Orlandi fired a close-range strike onto the crossbar. Orlandi had another chance to score on 57 minutes form close-range but sent the ball over the top of an open goal. Trialist van der Heijden sent Gorka Pintado through on goal and the former Granada skipper set-up his fellow countryman only for him to fire over the top.
Two finally became three shortly after the hour when Gorka Pintado was brought down inside the area by Neath 'keeper Thomas. Ferrie Bodde, one day after securing his future with the club, stepped up to cooly slot the ball past Thomas to make it 3-0.
Andrea Orlandi hit the woodwork for a second time shortly afterwards and fired a strike wide of Thomas' goal on 70 minutes.
The Swans added a fourth with quarter of an hour remaining with Michael van der Heijden firing home from close range. Ferrie Bodde played the ball into the feet of Orlandi and the former Barcelona forward's flick caught out the defence and van der Heijden was at hand to fire past sub 'keeper David.
Neath forward Vinny Shuttleworth tested de Vries with a shot from 20-yards towards the end but the icing on the cake came in the 90th minute as new signing Stefan Morrison turned his defender and squeezed his shot between 'keeper and the post to make it 5-0.
