Double victory for the Swans
Carmarthen Town v Port Talbot Town v Swansea City
Pre-Season Triangular Tournament
Thursday July 17, 2008 @ Richmond Park
The Swans continued their pre-season preparations with victories over Welsh Premiership opposition in this hastily arranged triangular tournament at Carmarthen.
A series of 45-minute matches between the Swans, Port Talbot and the hosts Carmarthen were played in front of around 1,000 spectators at Richmond Park with the full-timers coming out on top with two wins out of two.
Roberto used the same system as he did at Neath by playing different sides in both matches as 24 players were given a run out in total.
Following a goalless draw between the two Welsh Premier teams it was new signing Gorka Pintado who stole the show with a hat-trick as the Swans romped to a 4-0 victory over Port Talbot Town in the first game, while fellow countryman Guillem Bauza found the net on three occasions in the 3-0 win over Carmarthen.
On-loan Espanyol trickster Jordi Gomez also played an influential part in the opening victory over the Steelmen as he scored one and won the penalty from which Pintado scored his first goal on 6 minutes.
El Toro was involved in the build-up for the second goal starting off with an acute pass out wide to Mark Gower on the right-hand side, the former Southend man then crossed in to the back post where Pintado chested down for Jordi Gomez who fired home from the angle.
Pintado added a second on 23 minutes with a bullet header from Andrea Orlandi's cross and just before the end the former Granada CF skipper fired home from the angle to complete a fine treble.

The third and final game of the evening saw the Swans tackle the home side but following a good spell from the Old Gold at the start it was always going to be an uphill task for Deryn Brace's side following Guillem Bauza's opener on 15 minutes.
The Spanish striker was brought down inside the area by Mark Dodds and he picked himself up to convert the Swans' second spot-kick of the evening.
Ferrie Bodde directed a header onto the crossbar on 19 minutes but the lead was doubled five minutes later as Tom Butler set-up Bauza whose unstoppable curling shot found its way past Neil Thomas into the bottom corner.
Youngsters Joe Allen, Chris Jones and goalkeeper David Cornell were all given a brief run-out towards the end before Bauza completed his hat-trick two minutes from time, following up after Matty Collins' strike was parried by Thomas in the Carmarthen goal.
