Swansea saw their excellent totesport.com Combination run of form abruptly halted by Plymouth Argyle at Home Park in their penultimate away fixture of the season.
With a young Swansea squad, which featured senior defender Matthew Collins, Colin Pascoe also included the trio of players who had been on loan at Welsh Premiership side Neath - Kerry Morgan, Dion Chambers and Kyle Graves, with the remainder of the side consisting of scholars.
During the opening thirty minutes Plymouth moved in front, and on both occasions it was former Swan Rory Fallon who found the target only for both Chris Jones (penalty) and Kerry Morgan to cancel out the Pilgrims' lead.
Regrettably the Devon side increased the tempo and momentum during the second-half, and Swansea were unable to respond to the four-goal finish during a thirty-minute spell.
"It really was a game of two halves," said Pascoe after the game. "I thought we had the better scoring opportunities to have even been ahead by a couple of more goals, with the play and desire being superb.
"But despite ending the half all square, Plymouth's experienced squad constantly put us under long periods of pressure.
"In the end we were unable to handle the situations where Plymouth played a series of long balls into the channels and we were punished from them, where perhaps with better defending we could have coped with the series of second-half threats which produced four goals."

Kerry Morgan found the net on his first appearance in a Swans shirt this season |
It was the West Country hosts who stunned Swansea, moving ahead after only four minutes, when Fallon connected to a Craig Noone cross and then plant the ball just beyond the reach of goalkeeper David Cornell from eight-yards.
Swansea swiftly responded five minutes later to draw level from their first attacking venture into Plymouth territory, with Chris Jones placing the ball into the bottom corner from the penalty spot after Kerry Morgan had been tripped by full-back Ryan Leonard.
Fallon reappeared just before the half hour to edge Plymouth in front for a second time, and on this occasion he headed in from close range from an opening engineered by Luke Summerfield.
The Home Park outfit threatened to take a firmer grip of the game only to be denied further progress with Cornell bravely advancing to smother the ball as striker Roudolphe Douala made swift progress forward towards the 18-yard area.
The Swans went close to netting an equaliser for the second time on 36 minutes, only for Dion Chambers to be inches away from connecting onto a Jazz Richards infield delivery.
There was another opening carved out three minutes before the turnaround with Jones needing two attempts to send a by-line pass into the six-yard area, his second effort finding Morgan available to place a rising shot into the roof of the net.
The match continued to operate in a see-sawing manner with Plymouth regaining the goal scoring advantage for a third time on 49 minutes, a back heel pass from Douala releasing the supporting Noone who planted a low shot in from 10-yards while Douala got himself on the scoresheet just before the hour.

Plymouth introduced substitute George Donnelly on 64 minutes, in place of Fallon, and within ten seconds of his appearance he made a stunning impression with a timely shot curling beyond the reach of the Swansea 'keeper.
There was a bright positive second-half moment for the visitors when Brian McCaul obstructed Jones, but the 25-yard free kick from Collins deflected off Chris Clark and over the goal frame.
With twelve minutes on the clock, Donnelly made a darting run forward, shaking off the attention of the Swansea defence to fire home his second goal of the game.
