Wales go into next Saturday's qualifier against Azerbaijan on the back of last night's 1-0 friendly win against Estonia.

A Robert Earnshaw penalty mid-way through the first-half at Llanelli's Parc y Scarlets was the difference between both sides though Wales dominated their visitors for large periods of the game.

Estonian skipper Alo Barengrub was penalised inside the area with 26 minutes on the clock and Nottingham Forest striker Earnshaw stepped up to send 'keeper Kotenko the wrong way.

Swans defender Ashley Williams started the game at the heart of a three-man defence which consisted of Lewin Nyatanga (Derby) and Craig Morgan who helped guide Peterborough to League One promotion last term.

There were places on the bench for Owain Tudur Jones and Joe Allen, the latter entering the fray with a little over 10 minutes remaining to make his senior international debut.

Victory in next week's qualifier in Baku could take John Toshack's side to third place in Group 4 providing Finland fail to pick up maximum points against minnows Liechtenstein in Helsinki.
