Swansea City's youth team were back at the Liberty Stadium today to begin their preparations for the new season.

All 15 first and second-year scholars were in attendance for their early morning induction before heading over to Swansea University for fitness testing.

Various tests will also be undertaken for the remainder of the week while training is set to commence on Thursday.

"It's great to have everybody back and they are all raring to go," said Tony Pennock, the club's Head of Youth Development.

"We'll spend a bit of time testing them on their fitness at the University and the Liberty Stadium but also get them out on the training pitch over the next couple of day's aswell."

The returning scholars were joined by a number of new recruits starting their two-year spell at under-18 level including Kurtis March (below) and Jordan Smith, who both made the switch after leaving Cardiff, as well as midfielder Charlie Kasler following his move from Watford.
