Chris Jones has joined League Two outfit Grimsby Town on trial after rejecting an extension to his contract at the Liberty Stadium.
The 19-year-old striker has opted to try his luck at Blundell Park after failing to break into the Swansea City first-team.
A Wales youth international, Jones signed his first professional contract in 2006 and was handed his senior debut by former boss Kenny Jackett in a Carling Cup tie against Walsall.
The pacy front-man made a total of nine first-team appearances during the 2006/07 campaign, as well as starting in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at Peterborough, but didn't feature after Roberto Martinez was appointed manager in February 2007.
Jones spent the beginning of last season on loan in the Blue Square Premier with Cambridge United, making eight appearances, before returning to south west Wales and featured regularly in Colin Pascoe's reserve side.
Swansea City's Vice Presidents have a limited number of vacancies available for the new season.
The Vice Presidents was originally formed in 1970 by a group of ardent supporters.
Their aim was to generate more interest and support for the club and also to raise additional funds. To do this they organised events annually such as dinners and golf days.
They have their own lounge in the West Stand on matchdays run by committee members John Davies, Steve Templeman and Lynn Brown.
The superb facility comes complete with memorabilia of the history of the club sporting the walls.
Included in the membership is a matchday buffet, including tea and coffee; matchday programme; priority seating; pre-booked ticketing facility and exclusive use of the lounge with the option of bringing a limited number of guests.
Anyone interested in joining the VP's should contact John Davies on 0777 386 1939 for further details.
