Swansea City can confirm that Ferrie Bodde returned to the Liberty Stadium from his native Holland this afternoon.

The midfielder met with manager, Paulo Sousa, and chairman, Huw Jenkins, to apologise and explain that he was absent from training early this week in order to complete medical examinations and tie up his affairs in Holland.

Following the successful meeting Ferrie, along with a member of the club's medical staff, has agreed to meet with the doctor that operated on his cruciate ligament injury in order to check on the progress he has been making.

It has been agreed that he will go back to Holland to continue his rehabilitation and then return to Swansea on July 12 in order to complete his rehabilitation and integrate progressively into training with the first-team squad.

Paulo Sousa also met with last season's top-scorer, Jason Scotland, who started his preparations for pre-season this morning after being given extra time to recover following a spell with the Trinidad & Tobago national side.
