Swans boss Paulo Sousa has told his players to produce a 'Brighton bounce back' at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
The Swans will kick-off their Carling Cup campaign against Russell Slade's League One side with Paulo looking for the right reaction to Saturday's Championship defeat at Leicester City.
"All competitions are important, especially after a defeat,'' explained Paulo. "It's important to win and regain our confidence by playing good football.
"It was a little bit frustrating at Leicester, especially after all we've been working on in training and what I know my players are capable of.
"But that's now in the past and we have to find a different ways to achieve success.
"I am expecting a tough game and we will need to be at our best. If not then it will always be difficult to win the game.
"We need to be prepared and focussed 100 per cent to win games. This is what I want and expect from my players.''

Paulo will be forced into changes with Ashley Williams, Jazz Richards, Casey Thomas, Shaun MacDonald and goalkeeper David Cornell away on international duty with Wales.
Joe Allen is also ruled out with a hamstring injury sustained at the Walkers Stadium, although Paulo confirmed that the injury is not as bad as first thought.
"The injury doesn't seem so bad,'' he explained. "He has had a good reaction since Saturday and it may only take him two to three weeks to recover.''
Tickets for the first round tie are available from the ticket office at a reduced price of £10 for adults and £5 for concessions. Only the East and West Stands will be open.
