Swans boss Paulo Sousa is hopeful of improving his club's record against Blackpool when they make the long trip from Lancashire on Saturday (3pm).
The Seasiders have been beaten only once in the last eight attempts and the former Juventus and Portugal star wants that to change.
But Paulo is not expecting an easy ride against one of the Championship's in form sides.
"The history is not so good for us and we want to change that," he said.
"But it is a surprise to see them where they are.
"I didn't expect it at the start of the season, but I recognise the great work they have done and they deserve to be where they are.
"They play fantastic football, score a lot of goals and play with a lot of effort."
The last time a win was registered against Blackpool was just over four years ago when Lee Trundle, Leon Britton and Adebayo Akinfenwa - whose winner came nine minutes from time - were on target in the 3-2 success at the Liberty Stadium.
But the Bloomfield Road outfit, buoyed by their midweek success against Sheffield United, make the 260-mile trip to face a Swansea City side unbeaten in their last seven matches.
And Paulo has told his players that there is still plenty of work to be done.
He added: "We have not lost in seven games, we won an important game on Tuesday but it is not enough.
"We have a long way to go to improve ourselves and sometimes when you get a good result, you can take a step back.
"We want the winning mentality every day. It's important because if they achieve, I achieve and the club achieves."

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway |
Blackpool currently occupy fifth spot in the Championship - four points and six places above the Swans - and have won five of their last seven league games, but have lost their last three on the road in all competitions.
Manager Ian Holloway, who celebrated victory against former side Plymouth last weekend, is expecting his opponents to line-up and play in the same fashion as they did last term.
"On the reports I've seen they played really well to beat West Brom," said the 46-year-old.
"In the reports they are playing the same way, 4-3-3, and obviously I think that's a large reason why Paulo (Sousa) got the job because he has the same mentality as Roberto Martinez.
"They are both used to playing different type of football from what we play in England."
The home side will definitely be without midfielder Andrea Orlandi (thigh) but are boosted by the return to fitness of Joe Allen who featured towards the end of Tuesday's win at West Brom.
Skipper Garry Monk (calf) and Gorka Pintado (thigh), meanwhile, will both undergo late fitness tests.
Midfielder Ishmel Demontagnac will be available for selection for the last time before serving a three-match ban for his sending off in a reserve match.
Stephen McPhee (knee) and one-time Swan Daniel Nardiello (hip) both remain on the sidelines, as does defender Danny Coid (hairline fracture of tibia), but Gary Taylor-Fletcher could return from injury.
Ian Evatt could feature after returning to fitness following a hamstring strain and being named as an unused substitute on Tuesday.
