Bussy: "We worked hard throughout"

Posted on: Sat 20 Mar 2010

Guillem Bauza has every right to feel a little bit frustrated.

The Mallorcan striker was making his first start in over a year for the Swans, almost 12 months to the day when he lined-up in attack for last season's fixture at Loftus Road, strangely enough.

But on this occasion he was able to claim an assist for the game's opening goal scored by Nathan Dyer just before the hour, only for his return to be spoilt by the equaliser scored by Hoops' substitute Antonio German 14 minutes from time.

And the fact that the goal came from a set-piece was all the more frustrating for Bauza.

"If they put together a good play with three or four touches and scored a great goal then you can say nothing," said the 25-year-old

"But it's a set-piece you always think that you could have done a little bit more and clear the ball.

"There were a couple of rebounds inside the box and unluckily they went on to score the goal."

An ankle operation in the summer was a set-back for the former Espanyol youngster, whose only appearances prior to the three he's made in March came in August and December against Brighton (Carling Cup) and Sheffield Wednesday respectively.

And he praised his side's work rate as the Swans picked up a first point at Loftus Road since 1980.

"I thought we worked hard throughout the game," he added.

"We had some good chances in the first-half and in the second we got the goal; after that we continued to work hard but in the last 15 minutes we left them to play their game and they went on to score the goal."

The full interview with Bussy, as well as videos of manager Paulo Sousa and goalscorer Nathan Dyer, will be available on Swans Player this evening.
