Grimes joins Forest Green on loan

Posted on: Fri 13 Aug 2010

Swans defender Jamie Grimes has joined Forest Green Rovers on a one month loan.

The 19-year-old has linked up with the Blue Square Premier outfit and goes straight into the squad for tomorrow's league opener at Mansfield Town.

The one-time Leicester City youngster, who graduated from the club's youth team last year, will spend a second spell away from the Liberty Stadium after playing for Haverfordwest County last term.

He spent the majority of the campaign on loan with the Welsh Premier League side and proved to be a hit with the Pembrokeshire Bluebirds.

Grimes featured in 33 first-team games and walked away with the Supporters' Player and Manager's Young Player of the Year awards.

He signed a new one-year contract in the summer and, after featuring in six pre-season friendlies, was an unused substitute in the midweek Carling Cup win over Barnet.
