Brendan Rodgers has expressed his desire to strengthen the goalkeeping position in order to increase competition for the number one jersey.
And the Swans boss will use today's reserve game against Swindon Town (2pm) to cast an eye over former Chelsea shot stopper Yves Makabu-Makalambay.
The 24-year-old, who was at Stamford Bridge with Rodgers, spent last week training with the club and will be hoping to impress at Port Talbot this afternoon.
A player with big presence and stature - he stands at 6' 6" - he's well known to the manager who is hoping to bring in another goalkeeper, whether it's Makalambay or someone else.
"I just feel we need to sign a number two goalkeeper," said Rodgers.
"Whether it's Yves or another 'keeper, it will allow David [Cornell] to go and get the necessary experience and provide us with cover if anything happens to Dorus.
"He's a player that I know well and I know his capabilities. He's looked good [in training]; he's a boy that was a big talent at Chelsea, where he was offered a two-year deal, he turned it down to go and get regular football at Hibs.
"He's a bit off match fitness and general fitness after leaving Hibs at the end of last season but we're going to take a good look at him."
Admission at the GenQuip Stadium, home of Port Talbot Town, is priced at £3 for adults and £2 for concessions.
Updates of today's game will also be available right here on your official website.
