Alan Curtis felt his side deserved all three points after Swans Reserves had to settle for a hard-fought draw away at Wolves.
The second string suffered a tough opening 20 minutes at Telford before taking the lead on the stroke of half-time through Casey Thomas' cool finish.
As the home side pressed for an equaliser, Stephen Dobbie saw a second-half penalty saved to seal the points before Wolves grabbed a late goal through James Spray.
"I was delighted with the lads, particularly the senior players," said Curt. "Alan Tate and Stephen Dobbie were outstanding and Jose made some excellent saves.
"But the players battled hard, acquitted themselves really well and showed great maturity. We mixed it up in the second half and I thought it was a terrific performance and a game we deserved to win."
Despite going six games without a win in the Barclays Premier Reserve League South, Curt's side showed battling qualities on a pitch that wasn't cut out for the fluid football that the second string are accustomed to.
But despite the conditions, Curt was delighted with his side's application.
"Even though we showed plenty of style throughout the game, we also showed great steel," he said. "Part of the learning curve for our younger players is to come to places like this and get a result.
"A number of the players who started had played for the Youth team a few days ago and so, physically, we were asking a lot of them.
"It was great to get some kind of result because in the last six or seven games our side has got younger and younger and they are playing against top class youngsters from other clubs."
