Swansea City finished the season on a high as the League One champions came away from the Withdean Stadium with their 92nd point of the campaign courtesy of a late Febian Brandy winner.
Brandy struck in the 78th minute after good work from fellow substitute Shaun MacDonald.
It was the fitting end to a fantastic campaign under manager Roberto Martinez who finally got to see the League One trophy as it was presented to skipper Garry Monk.
Roberto led the way through a guard of honour from players, stewards and even ballboys to collect his winners' medal along with the rest of the Swansea squad on the Coca-Cola podium.
Then it was down to Swansea's influential skipper to lift the trophy in front of the 900 travelling Jack Army who had been treated to another stylish display from the Swans who were crowned worthy champions.
They've celebrated promotion; they've celebrated the title without the trophy; and now they can celebrate with the silverware as well.
Nottingham Forest will be the other side guaranteed to join the Swans in the Championship next season after Carlisle drew and Doncaster lost.
Brighton: Kuipers, Whing, Richards, Lynch, Fraser, Cox, Elphick, Murray, Forster, Robinson, Loft. Subs: Mayo, Gatting, Dixon, Fogden, Martot.
Swansea City: De Vries, Rangel, Painter, Lawrence, Monk ©, Tudur Jones, Pratley, Anderson, Butler, Bauza, Scotland. Subs: Knight, Tate, MacDonald, Brandy, Allen.
Swansea boss Roberto Martinez made just two changes to the side that beat Leyton Orient 4-2 last Saturday with Tom Butler coming in for Andy Robinson who was given a deserved rest for the final game of a memorable League One season. Darren Pratley also returned from a one-match ban to replace the injured Leon Britton (ankle) in the middle of midfield.
With the sun shining, Jason Scotland fired just wide with six minutes gone before Nicky Forster responded five minutes later when he met a cross from Dean Cox with a header which flew the wrong side of the post.
Butler was the next Swans player to try his luck when he forced the first save of the game out of Michel Kuipers in the Brighton goal.
Dorus de Vries made his first save in the 20th minute when he gathered a Forster shot with ease, but it was Swansea who created the best chances to break the deadlock.
An out-swinging corner from Paul Anderson was met by Owain Tudur Jones, but his goal-bound header was blocked by Andrew Whing with 34 minutes gone.
Forster came close again minutes later before Darren Pratley carved out the best chance of the game with a great ball over the top to Anderson. The Liverpool loan signing burst clear only for Kuipers to pull of a great double save.
Then right on the stroke of half-time Butler curled a shot from the edge of the area just wide.
Half-time: Brighton 0 Swans 0
Swansea started brightly as Guillem Bauza unselfishly set up Anderson who brought another fine save out of Kuipers.
The league champions continued to press as a one-two between Bauza and Scotland set the Spaniard up with eight minutes of the second period gone, but a great tackle by Lynch denied him firing Swansea ahead.
Pratley was having a superb game in the middle of midfield as he picked out Anderson with another great ball. The winger chested it down before cutting inside and curling a shot with his weaker left foot inches wide.
Brighton tried to respond through Jake Robinson with a right-footed shot from the edge of the area which de Vries saved well before punching another cross from Cox away from the danger zone.
Swansea were soon back on the attack, however, as Angel Rangel met an in-swinging corner from Butler only for his header to fly over the bar.
Manager Roberto Martinez made a double change in the 73rd minute when Shaun MacDonald and Febian Brandy replaced Anderson and Bauza respectively.
And it was the two young substitutes who combined to give Swansea the lead in the 78th minute. Welsh Under-21 international MacDonald went passed his marker before faking the shot to pull the ball back for Febian Brandy to fire home.
All that was left before the celebrations began was for another Welsh Under-21 star Joe Allen to replace Pratley in the middle of a midfield now containing three Welsh internationals - with Owain Tudur Jones the senior statesman.
It's Championship football up next . . .
