Striker Lee Trundle struck his ninth goal of the season to keep Swansea City flying high at the top of League One. Trundle struck on the half hour to extend their unbeaten run to seven games after his side created a host of chances.
Bournemouth: Stewart, Hart, Gowling, Young, O'Connor, Foley, Stock, Browning, Surman, Hayter, Keene. Subs: Rodrigues, Pitman, Cooper, Cooke, Coutts
Swansea City: Gueret, Tate, Iriekpen, Austin, Ricketts, Britton, Bean, Martinez, McLeod, Akinfenwa, Trundle. Subs: Murphy, O'Leary, Monk, Robinson, Goodfellow.
Swansea City boss Kenny Jackett rested central defender Garry Monk for their trip to the South Coast after being rushed back from injury.
Monk had to be content with a place on the bench as he was replaced by fellow defender Kevin Austin for the only change to the side that drew 1-1 with Nottm Forest on Saturday.
Swansea made a bright opening and took the game to their hosts at every opportunity in front of 675 travelling Jacks.
Alan Tate and Leon Britton combined well early on before the diminutive midfielder provide a great cross which Kevin McLeod just headed over.
Sam Ricketts, who together with Tate were overlapping well from the full-back position, found himself in space to unleash a goalbound shot which was deflected against the bar and away to safety.
And it was Tate who found himself in the Bournemouth penalty area with 22 minutes gone, but he tried his luck with a wayward shot when Lee Trundle and Adebayo Akinfenwa were in better positions.
But the breakthrough eventually came on the half-hour when a cross from Marcus Bean picked out Akinfenwa. Gareth Stewart was forced to make a good save, but Trundle was perfectly placed to follow up for his ninth goal of the season and put the Swans 1-0 up.
In fact, Trundle could have had his second minutes later as he fired a good chance into the side netting.
But Swansea were given a timely warning just before the interval when Tate lost possession trying to play a difficult ball to Trundle and Willy Gueret was forced to make a great save as Bournemouth counter-attacked, tipping James Keene's effort over the bar.
Half-time: Bournemouth 0 Swansea City 1
Akinfenwa had two good chances at the start of the second half, but failed to beat Stewart in the Bournemouth goal.
Swansea nearly paid the price in the 54th minute as the home side enjoyed a good spell, James Hayter guiding a header towards the top corner only for Gueret to pull off a fantastic save to tip the ball over at the expense of a corner.
Swansea were soon back in control going forward, however, as Akinfenwa struck a fierce 58th minute drive from the edge of the area which thumped against the cross bar.
While Bournemouth were enjoying more possession, it was Swansea who were creating a host of chances as Izzy Iriekpen missed another great opportunity to kill the game off.
Andy Robinson came on for Akinfenwa with seven minutes remaining as Jackett looked to tighten things up.
Swansea still created chances, however, as McLeod fired over before Surman went close at the other end for Bournemouth.
As the game moved towards injury time, Bournemouth skipper Neil Young had a great chance to equalise from a last gasp corner, but he guided a free header wide.
