Swansea City stormed to the top of League One for the first time this season with a memorable victory at Dean Court.

Two goals from Warren Feeney on his return to his former club and one each from Ferrie Bodde and Dennis Lawrence made it a 'Super Sunday' down south.

AFC Bournemouth: Moss, Telfer, Pearce, Cooper, Wilson, Hollands, Anderton, Lallana, Kuffour, Vokes, Bradbury. Subs: Stewart, Newman, Perrett, Gowling, McQuoid.

Swansea City: De Vries, Rangel, Painter, Monk ©, Lawrence, Butler, Bodde, Pratley, Anderson, Scotland, Feeney. Subs: Austin, O'Leary, Orlandi, Knight, Allen.

Swansea named the same side that trounced Leyton Orient 5-0 last Saturday in a record-breaking victory after midfielder Darren Pratley recovered from the leg injury that saw him stretchered off in the midweek win over Wycombe with a suspected broken leg.

Midfielder Andy Robinson was given another week to recover from a hamstring injury, while Leon Britton (hamstring), Alan Tate (knee) and Darryl Duffy were also still missing.

The Swans were given an added incentive to do well at Dean Court, knowing a win would take them top of League One for first time with the season a quarter of the way through.

They faced a Cherries side that was also unchanged from the one that beat Crewe 4-1 away last Saturday.

But despite the win, Saturday's results elsewhere in League One left the Cherries bottom of the division.

On the bench, Josh Gowling and Russell Perrett replaced Garreth O'Connor and Brett Pitman.

Match action

Swansea were welcomed onto the pitch by another impressive away turnout from the travelling Jack Army who were enjoying the October sunshine.

It was the home side who created the first chance, however, when Telfer's cross found Darren Anderton, but the ball got stuck under the feet of the former England international.

Then Bradbury forced Dorus de Vries into his first save before Swansea won their first corner at the other end; Jason Scotland firing Tom Butler's cross just past the post.

Then Ferrie Bodde tried his luck from 25 yards with a low shot which Moss did well to hold as Swansea came more into the game.

And the breakthrough arrived in the 14th minute. Scotland was brought down just outside the area by Danny Hollands and Ferrie Bodde curled a superb free-kick around the wall and beyond a stunned Neil Moss.

And Swansea were 2-0 up in the 28th minute when Pratley's shot was deflected behind for a corner which Dennis Lawrence headed home.

Two minutes later and Bournemouth had pulled a goal back when Hollands was controversially brought down in the area by Lawrence and Lee Bradbury slotted the penalty beyond de Vries. It was a soft goal to give away as the home side found themselves back in it.

Half-time: Cherries 1 Swans 2

Bournemouth won a free-kick on the edge of the area early, but Lallana's effort flew just over the bar.

Paul Anderson joined Angel Rangel in the referee's notebook soon after when he went down inside the area. Instead of a penalty, Anderson was booked for diving.

Then Tom Butler drove forward down the right, but his shot failed to trouble Moss. A minute later and Butler tried his luck again after finding himself in acres of space again. This time his shot hit the side netting.

Bournemouth were appealing for another penalty in the 50th minute when Garry Monk appeared to handle the ball, but the referee waved play on.

Swansea were given a real wake-up call on the hour when good build-up play from Bournemough saw Bradbury with a great chance eight yards out. But de Vries made a fantastic point-blank save to maintain Swansea's lead.

The Swans could have killed the game off minutes later as Scotland broke clear. His shot was blocked, but Warren Feeney completely missed the follow up when he should have scored, before Anderson eventually forced Moss into a fine save.

With 10 minutes remaining, Swans boss Roberto Martinez sent on young Joe Allen for Scotland in a bid to shut the game down.

But Anderson nearly killed the game off himself with a great run and cross, but it just eluded the head of Feeney.

Not that it mattered as Swansea won themselves a corner. This time Lawrence secured a penalty at the right end as he was adjudged to have been pushed inside the area and Warren Feeney wrestled the ball off Pratley to slot home the penalty for his third goal for the club.

And Swansea weren't finished as Pratley slipped a great through ball for Warren Feeney to race on to and the Cardiff City loan signing showed great composure to lift his shot over Moss for his second goal in four minutes - and his fourth in as many games.
