Swansea City drew a blank at the Liberty Stadium despite dominating most of the possession against the Seagulls.
In a game of very few clear-cut chances, Alex Revell and Bas Savage both hit the crossbar for the visitors, while Ferrie Bodde saw his low drive thump the foot of the post for the Swans.

Swansea were without striker Darryl Duffy who picked up a groin injury in the defeat at Leeds last Saturday. His place was taken by Warren Feeney who was making his first start in a Swans shirt since making his loan move from Cardiff City a month ago.
With Leon Britton and Andy Robinson still missing with hamstring injuries, Tom Butler kept his place on the right of midfield, with Andrea Orlandi coming in for Paul Anderson on the left.
It was the Spaniards first start for the Swans since arriving on transfer deadline day from Alaves, having come on as a second-half substitute at Elland Road.
There was also a change in the hiddle of the park with Darren Pratley replacing Kristian O'Leary who had to be content with a place on the bench.
Eight-placed Swansea, with six points from their last nine, were looking to take advantage of two consecutive home games to climb the table with Swindon due at the Liberty on Tuesday.
They faced a Brighton side in 12th place, but just a point behind them.
Manager Dean Wilkins, who has seen his side score just once on the road this season.
First-choice strikers Bas Savage and Nicky Forster both came through fitness tests after picking up injuries during Saturday's 2-1 home defeat by Yeovil.
No sooner had the game begun, Swansea won a free-kick right on the edge of the area after goalkeeper Michel Kuipers handled outside his box.
The 'keeper escaped without even a card as Ferrie Bodde fired a fierce effort straight into the wall before Pratley's follow up was deflected behind for a corner.
It was a lively start from the home side with Orlandi and Feeney looking up for their home debuts.
But the best chance fell to Brighton after 10 minutes as Andy Whings' cross deceived the Swans back four and Dorus de Vries was forced parry the ball out. It felt straight to Nicky Forster four yards out who looked odds on to fire the visitors ahead. But de Vries somehow managed to get a leg to his shot and deflect the effort over for a fantastic save.
At the other end, Feeney found himself in space and raced forward only to be brought down by George O'Callaghan who picked up the first yellow card of the game.
Swansea carved out another opening with 22 minutes gone as neat build-up play saw Butler deliver a right-wing cross which Bodde glanced over with a snap header.
But the tempo had dropped considerably by the half-hour point before Brighton's O'Callaghan tried his luck from 20 yards with a clever chip. De Vries was alert to the danger, however, producing a fine save to push the ball over the bar.
Swansea weren't putting enough pressure on the Brighton defence as the half came to a close. Butler did manage to create space for a cross five minutes from time, but Feeney's header was easily saved.

Swansea applied some early pressure at the start of the second half as Orlandi whipped in two dangerous crosses which Brighton managed to scramble clear.
But the home side had their heart in their mouth in the 50th minute as Alex Revell saw his chip rebound off the top of the crossbar with de Vries beaten.
As the game came to life, Jason Scotland saw his 20-yard fee-kick blocked on its way to goal as big Dennis Lawrence just failed to fire home the rebound as it dropped five yards out.
And it was Swansea's turn to hit the woodwork in the 56th minute after good work from Orlandi down the left. As Brighton failed to clear their lines, Bodde fired a 25-yard shot against the foot of the upright.
Swansea continued to step up the pace as Scotland had a shot blocked before Butler's dangerous cross was cleared by skipper Dean Hammond.
With 63 minutes gone, manager Roberto Martinez made his first change as Paul Anderson replaced Feeney up front, with the Cardiff striker getting a warm round of applause for his efforts.
Brighton responded by replacing Forster with Doug Loft.
Swansea kept probing as Scotland headed an Angel Rangel cross back into the danger zone. The stretching Anderson just managed to get a touch, but Kuipers made a good on-handed save.
Orlandi got his first booking soon after, while Hammond somehow managed to escape a yellow after a foul on Bodde as time started to run out.
Roberto threw on Guillem Bauza with two minutes remaining for Orlandi who had an encouraging debut, but he had no time to make a difference despite four minutes of injury time going up.
Instead, it was Brighton's Bas Savage who nearly won it for Brighton as his dipping shot hit the Swansea crossbar for the second time in the game.
