Swansea City are waiting for the okay from Sir Alex Ferguson to bring Febian Brandy back to Wales on loan.

Ferguson was expected back from holiday at Old Trafford today to begin fine-tuning his Manchester United squad ahead of the new season.

And Roberto Martinez hopes the United chief will soon give the nod for Brandy to spend a second stint at the Liberty Stadium.

The teenage striker scored three times for Swansea last term after arriving on loan in January.

And though Brandy struggled to secure a starting place in
Martinez's League One title-winning side, the Swansea boss is convinced he can be a force in the Championship.

"Febian settled in straightaway when he came to us," he said.

"He loved every single second of his time here and you could see him improving every day.

"He was slowly fulfilling the Premiership potential he has got and we're waiting for the go-ahead now to bring him back on a season-long loan.

"I've spoken to Febian about it and I know he's very keen to come and play for us again."

Martinez has a probable vacancy in attack with Darryl Duffy close to joining Bristol Rovers in a deal worth around £100,000.

And
Swansea are understood to have an alternative loan target in mind should a move for Brandy fail to materialise.

Swansea look to be favourites to land the 19-year-old, though, particularly after Ferguson stated in May that Brandy had enjoyed "a good experience" at the Liberty.

"Sir Alex is due back from his holiday and we hope we'll be able to find out what he thinks about Febian very soon,"
Martinez added.

"We have to see what Manchester United think of Febian's situation .

"It's important to find out what Sir Alex thinks of the way Febian developed during his stay with us. Hopefully, after that, we will be able to sort out another loan."
