Leon Britton insists Swansea City have no Championship inferiority complex after they banked their first league win of the season against Nottingham Forest.

Swansea have gone from big fish in League One to relative minnows in a second tier where the majority of clubs have greater financial muscle.

But Roberto Martinez's men proved cash doesn't count for everything with a resounding 3-1 triumph over a Forest side who spent more than any other Championship outfit over the summer.

"We all know Forest are a big club with big crowds and that they have spent quite a lot of money," Britton said.

"They are able to splash the cash more than our club maybe, but when we get out onto the pitch we feel we are level.

"Whatever team we put out and whoever we are up against, we'll feel we are just as good as the opposition and we don't worry about how much they have spent on players."

Britton was the leading performer on a day packed with impressive Swansea displays.

Martinez's men went ahead when the little midfielder's shot hit the post and ricocheted in off Paul Smith before being pegged back against the run of play.

But Ferrie Bodde netted the rebound after his penalty had been saved to re-establish Swansea's advantage and Gorka Pintado sealed victory with a stunning debut strike 19 minutes from the end.

"That's the benchmark for the season set," Britton added.

"We want to perform like that and, if we do, who knows what could happen this season.

"We set our standards right from the start last season and we didn't let them drop.

"Now our aim is to do the same again this year.

"We're off and running now and that's important.

"We're coming into what is an unknown division for us because a lot of the lads haven't played in the Championship before.

"But after two games, as players we feel we can do well in this league. We feel there's nothing to fear and that we can achieve something this year."

Swansea have the luxury of a free week ahead of their next Championship outing, the televised trip to Plymouth on Saturday evening.

They hope to take a fully-fit squad - barring long-termer Fede Bessone - to Home Park after Garry Monk and Tom Butler picked up knocks this weekend.

Pintado could push for a start against Argyle after his spectacular contribution from the bench against Forest.

"It was a great finish," Britton said.

"We were 2-1 up but didn't sit back because we knew that would invite pressure and that Forest had the quality to punish us.

"We kept going and looking for another goal and, after Mark Gower did fantastically down the left, Gorka put it right into the top corner with the outside of his boot."
