Swansea signed the 28 year old Trinidad & Tobago international striker on a two-year contract from St Johnstone in the summer of 2007 after fighting off interest from a number of clubs and gaining a new work permit from the Home Office.
Scotland scored 26 times for St Johnstone last season - taking his total to 33 goals in 66 League appearances - and was named in the SPFA's Scottish Division One 'Team of the Year', voted for by the managers.
He started his career in T&T with San Juan Jabloteh and Defence Force before signing for Dundee United in August 2003 only to be forced home after his work permit application renewal was turned down in 2005.
However a new application to play for St. Johnstone was approved and did enough to warrant a place in T&T's 2006 World Cup squad.
He was explosive during his first season in south west Wales and went on to score a remarkable 29 goals in all competitions, playing a huge role in the Swans' title-winning campaign.
At the end of the season he was awarded the League One Golden Boot award as well as claiming the Away Player of the Year, Top Goalscorer and Supporters' Player of the Year accolades at the club's annual awards dinner in April 2008.
On the day of the first home game of the 2008/09 season it was announced that Jason signed a new Swansea City contract. Click here for details.
And he carried on his goalscoring exploits during the club's Championship campaign by registering a tally of 24 goals in all competitions - including his 50th for the club from the penalty spot in the 1-0 victory over Plymouth in March.
Despite a slow start of scoring just five times in the first of his 23 matches during the campaign, a late double to salvage a point against Barnsley opened the floodgates as he went on to score a further 19 in the remaining 28 fixtures he took part in.
At the club's end of season Awards dinner the striker walked away with the top-scorer gong.
