The 21-year-old signed for the Swans on a free transfer in the summer from Premiership Fulham on a two-year deal.
The Welsh-born midfielder has represented Wales at Under-17, 19 and Under-21 level after moving from his home-town club Merthyr to Swindon Town.
His displays in their youth ranks caught the eye of Fulham who quickly snapped him up, adding him to their own youth set up. A regular in the Reserves, Matty trained with the Swans last season where he impressed manager Roberto Martinez.
His only first-team appearance for the Swans came at Newport County in the FAW Premier Cup but in November 2007 he moved to north Wales and played three times on loan at Wrexham.
