David Cotterill

Made the loan switch to the Liberty Stadium in November 2009 after watching the Swans' 1-0 home success against Derby County, before making his switch permanent in the New Year as a club record signing.

His debut came as a substitute at Newcastle United before starting his first game against Plymouth Argyle on December 8.

Cotterill signed for Sheffield United in the summer of 2008 for an undisclosed fee from Wigan Athletic.

The signing was a popular one after he had made an earlier impression on Blades fans during a loan spell.

He made a telling contribution to the Blades' path to the play-off final in 2009, taking on penalty duties after the sale of James Beattie.

Cardiff-born, he made his full international debut for Wales in October 2005, aged 17, having also represented his country at U19s and U21s level.

He shot to prominence at his first club, Bristol City, making over 50 appearances in his teenage years before completing a £2m to Wigan.

But lack of first team games at Sheffield prompted the flyer to return home to Wales, and in early January, 2010, he signed a three-and-a-half-year deal for a club record sum of £600,000 to keep him at the Liberty Stadium.

Made 21 league appearances under Paulo Sousa in his first season, and started strongly under Brendan Rodgers last term.

Featured 14 times in the league, scoring once from the spot against Preston, before spending time on loan at Portsmouth.

Returned to the Liberty at the conclusion of his spell at Fratton Park.
