Owain signed for the club at the start of the 2005-06 season after a successful trial period.
The midfielder made the move from Welsh Premiership club Bangor City for £5,000.
A fluent Welsh speaker, the midfielder had a dream start to his first season as a professional after becoming a regular in the side and making his Wales Under-21 debut.
Unfortunately he missed the start of the season with a serious knee injury which needed an operation.
Was called up into the full Welsh squad in November 2006, but was forced to go to America in December for another knee operation that kept him out for the season.
The former Porthmadog youngster regained fitness towards the end of the 2007/08 season and managed eight league appearances before finally making his international debut for Wales in the friendly win over Iceland in Reykjavik.
In April 2008 he was named as the Swansea City Clubman of the Year.
