The 26-year-old signed on a long-term contract in the summer from Dutch side ADO Den Haag.
The Dutch Under-23 international had been with Den Haag for 15 years after graduating through the youth academy to make his first-team debut as an 18-year-old in 2001.
Having signed a new deal in December 2005, the tough-tackling midfielder expressed a desire to leave after Den Haag was relegated from the First Division last season.
Despite attracting interest from the likes of Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen, Feyenord and Swiss champions FC Zurich, Bodde opted for the Swans for an undisclosed fee.
He has been described in Holland as the Dutch Roy Keane and in July 2008 signed a new contract at the club - click here for more details.
Following a fine start to the Championship campaign, Ferrie suffered a knee injury in the November clash with Birmingham at the Liberty Stadium, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.
But during the first four months he weighed in with no fewer than seven goals, including a wonder strike from distance at Preston in September which was named as 'Goal of the Year' at the end of season awards - click HERE to watch it.
