The Swans signed the highly-rated Welsh international from Wrexham in the summer on a three-year contract.
The 21-year-old left-back was born in St Asaph in North Wales and spent six years at Manchester City as a youngster until injury prompted him to leave Maine Road at 15.
Despite offers from other top flight clubs, he opted to join his hometown club Wrexham where he went on to make over 80 first team appearances.
It also earned him a place in the Welsh Under-21 squad before winning his first senior cap under John Toshack in a friendly in Croatia in May 2010, where his progress was also monitored by two Premier League clubs.

Despite being offered a new deal at Wrexham, Taylor opted for the challenge of the Championship with the Swans.
Now a regular in the senior Wales squad, he established himself as a regular in the left-back spot last season for the Swans and made 30 league appearances.
He was unfortunate to get sent-off after just two minutes of the play-off semi-final at Nottingham Forest last season and missed the final victory over Reading at Wembley.
His impressive form sparked a £1m-plus bid from Newcastle in the summer, but he committed himself to the Swans instead with a contract extension.
