The Swans fought off competition from three La Liga sides to capture young Espanyol midfielder Jordi Gomez on a season-long loan.
A deal worth almost £200,000 was agreed with Espanyol to bring the playmaker to south west Wales in June 2008.
Gomez made three La Liga appearances for the Olympic Stadium outfit last term and also found the net on 10 occasions for Espanyol's B side.
He made his Swans debut as a substitute in the opening day defeat at Charlton.
