The club's Head of Youth Development was registered as a player during the early stages of the 2008/09 campaign in order to play a reserve team fixture.
He had played between the sticks in a few pre-season fixtures for the youth team but did make the bench for the Swans' FA Cup fixture at Histon as only first-choice 'keeper, Dorus de Vries, was available at the time.
Pennock began his career as a youngster at Stockport and also had spells at Wigan and Hereford before making a name for himself at Yeovil, where he played over 200 times between 1995 and 2001.
On leaving Huish Park he had spells as a player with Rushden & Diamonds, Farnborough, Carmarthen Town and Newport County before taking on his new role at the Liberty Stadium in the summer of 2008.
He had been goalkeeping coach at the Swans on two other occasions, as well as managing Port Talbot Town in the Welsh Premier and the Welsh national Semi-Pro team.
