Roberto Martinez - Manager

Roberto Martinez

Roberto was born and brought up in Spain and made his La Liga debut in 1993 for Real Zaragoza against Athletico Madrid.

He left his his home-town club Balaguer to join Wigan in June 1995 after the club had just escaped relegation from the old Third Division.

He quickly established himself as a cult hero back in Wigan after helping the club clinch the old Division Three title in 1996 which proved the catalyst for their steady climb towards the Premiership.

Having completed the challenges at Wigan in July 2001 where he made 226 appearances in a six-season spell, he endured a brief stint in Scotland with Motherwell and a season at Walsall where he spent most of his time on loan at Swansea from January to May, 2003.

His challenge at the Vetch Field under manager Brian Flynn was to help maintain Swansea City's Football League status as they battled against relegation to the Conference.

Roberto went on to captain the club to promotion from League Two and lift the FAW Premier Cup on two occasions.

In total, he made 122 League appearances before being released by former manager Kenny Jackett at the end of the 2005-06 season and joined Chester City on a two-year contract.

He signed a 27-month deal as Swansea City manager on February 26, 2007.

Graeme Jones - Assistant Manager

Manager Roberto Martinez made Graeme Jones his first signing when he arrived at the Liberty Stadium at the end of February 2007.

The 37-year-old joined Hamilton in the summer after retiring as a player and working extensively as a coach with the English FA and the youth academy at Middlesbrough.

He came highly recommended by the Premiership club whose academy is also rated as one of the best in the country.

Already a holder of an Uefa 'A' coaching licence, he played with Roberto at Wigan where he helped the Latics to the Division Three title in 1997 with 31 goals in 33 League games.
