Kate Rees - Head Phyiotherapist

Kate

Kate started working with the Swans on their pre-season tour to Spain in 2009, while also assisting on matchday during the early weeks of the campaign.

She eventually left her full-time post at the Heath Hospital in Cardiff to become Head Physio in November.

Kate was physio for Aberavon RFC for 10 years before joining the Swans.

She also worked with the Welsh senior women's football team for nearly two years.

Ryland Morgans - Head of Sports Science

Ryland Morgans

Ryland Morgans was appointed as Head of Sports Science at the start of the 2010-11 season.

Morgans, 33, left his sports science post at Premier League Fulham to help improve the strength and conditioning aspects of the squad and club.

Born and bred in Swansea, the former Olchfa Comprehensive pupil and Leicester City apprentice arrives after spells working for the FAW, Northampton, Nottingham Forest and Fulham.

Morgans, who has also played League of Wales football, not only has a BSc (hons) and Masters degree in Sport Science from UWIC, he is also studying towards a PhD in Science in Football.

He also has a Uefa A licences in coaching and sports science instruction and will take control of all the monitoring and testing of players' fitness, strength and conditioning; recovery and injury prevention strategy; nutrition; functional rehabilitation of injured players and psychological monitoring.

Richard Buchanan - Physiotherapist

Richard Buchanan

Richard, 29, joined the Swans at the start of the 2009-10 season having worked for Wrexham FC, the Welsh Under-17 and Under-19 squads plus, more recently, the Special Forces at the Ministry of Defence.

He was handed his introduction to the Swans against Cardiff City in the South Wales derby at the Liberty.

Ailsa Jones - Physiotherapist


Ailsa Jones

Ailsa is the longest serving member of the medical team after joining the club as a physio in 2006.

She has a degree in Sports Science and BSc degree from UWIC in sport and physical education.

Fully trained in the likes of RPM, body pump, aerobics, body toning, body balance and pilates, Ailsa is a valued member of the team.
