I'm pleased to announce that Leon Britton has managed to hold on to his crown as 'Bleep Test King' after our latest round of fitness tests.

Bleep Britton not only came out on top, but he smashed the club record with a score of 15.8.

Darren Pratley, Marcos Painter and Angel Rangel came the closest to pinching his crown, but there was no way Brits was ever going to lose it.

The average score throughout the squad was around 13.5 which was very pleasing. It is where we want to be because it's on a par with the levels set by the Championship clubs and above.

All the players wore their heart-rate monitors throughout the bleep tests and the results confirmed that the fitness levels have improved dramatically since pre-season.

The next thing we will be doing is giving all the players blood tests so that we can get a detailed analysis of the players' fitness levels.

Coupled with the recent urine tests we did, it will give us a really good data to analyse the players on an individual basis.

One thing is for certain, the fitness levels should stand us in good stead for a busy December.

It's also looking good on the injury front with the treatment room fairly empty.

Owain Tudur Jones is still a week or two away from recovering from his ankle injury.

He went away with Wales for a couple of days to experience the international set up and get to know all the Welsh faces, but he wasn't able to play a part in proceedings.

We tried to get him back fit for the FA Cup tie at Billericay earlier in the month, but he didn't come through and we decided to step him back a bit.

At the end of the day, he's been out for so long a couple more weeks won't harm him in the bigger picture of things.

Andy Robinson made his return from a foot injury against Huddersfield recently, but then went and had a kick right on the same spot.

It's a bit sore, but he's just got to get on with it while we monitor his progress.

Keri Morgan is also making good progress from the fractured collarbone he received playing for Port Talbot, but it's still going to take him at least six weeks to get himself back in action.
