All quiet in the treatment room

Posted on: Mon 23 Mar 2009

The games are certainly coming thick and fast at the moment, but touch wood we seem to be keeping the players away from the treatment room.

The usual long-term suspects are still there like Marcos Painter, Ferrie Bodde and Darren Pratley.

Paints is making great progress though from his knee ligament injury and has been out on the training ground now for nearly two weeks doing some light rehab.

He'll have a strength test next week to help us form a decision on when we can step up his functional training.

At this point we can't rule out a comeback before the end of the campaign, but we are still targeting a return during pre-season.

Ferrie is back over again from Holland this weekend to continue our assessment of his own knee ligament injury.

Like Paints he is progressing really well and is due to see the consultant in the next couple of weeks.

Prats' injured shoulder is also healing really well and he has got quite a bit of movement back.

In fact, he has progressed so well that we gave him a few days off last week so that he could go away and get some sun on his back.

Gorka Pintado is also back in the swing of things after his double groin operation in Germany.

It was an interesting trip and certainly an experience for me as I not only had to carry out my physio duties with him, but also act as a tourist guide and English teacher.

A Spaniard and a Welshman in Germany certainly had its moment, but we managed to emerge unscathed from trip and he should be back on the training ground next week.

Jordi Gomez picked up a slight knee strain at Watford which was aggravated on the heavy pitch at Vicarage Road. He'll have a fitness test before today's game, but he should be ok.

Owain Tudur Jones missed the game at Watford with a slight back strain and he looks even taller now after the osteopath put him on the rack!

But OTJ trained on Thursday and Friday with no reaction, so he will be available for selection today.

On a final note, it is also worth mentioning the ProZone stats for the Fulham game as they made fantastic reading.

In total, we made 532 passes with a completion rate of just over 86 per cent - the highest recorded in the Championship by any side this season.

It earned us 60 per cent possession, which wasn't bad considering we were up against Premiership opposition.

Now we've just got to keep it up!
