Swans handed bye in Welsh Youth Cup

Posted on: Sun 07 Sep 2008

The Swans have received a bye into round two of the FAW Welsh Youth Cup.

Last season's cup winners will automatically be joined at the second stage by Cardiff, runners-up to the Swans last term, Chirk AAA and Cwmbran Celtic.

Afan Lido and Llanrumney United have also progressed due to the withdrawal of Ton Pentre and Ento Aberaman respectively.

The young Swans triumphed 1-0 over their rivals at Ninian Park in April, Kieran Howard getting the all important goal in the very last minute.

Victories over Merthyr Tydfil, Carmarthen Town, The New Saints and Chirk AAA sent the Swans into the final.
