Posted on: Mon 15 Sep 2008

Wales Under-17's took on the Faroe Islands this afternoon in their opening Uefa qualifier at Fao in Portugal and chalked up a 4-1 victory.

Joshua Dawkin of Norwich City got the ball rolling with the opener eight minutes before half-time and substitute Elliott Chamberlain added a second just before the hour.

Swindon Town striker Billy Bodin, the son of former Wales international Paul who is also youth boss at the County Ground, scored twice in the space of three minutes shortly afterwards to give Wales a perfect start to the group.
